Become aGenetic Counselor

Ever wondered how we inherit eye colour or why we resemble our parents? Does the human form fascinate you?

As a Genetics Coach, you can help unlock these mysteries! This is a world where biology meets coaching to guide people towards understanding their genetic makeup.

What is a Genetic Counselor?

Imagine a career where you combine science with helping people – that’s what Genetics Counselors and Coaches do! Genetics Coaches are experts in genetics who use their knowledge to educate and assist individuals in understanding their DNA. From health risks to ancestral history, they provide insights that help people make informed decisions about their lifestyle, health, and more.

Genetics coaches will help individuals to understand their genetic profiles and how they can work with or change these profiles to improve their health. In this role, these coaches will help explain the results of individual genetic analysis. They will also provide information about the different genetic-manipulation technologies that are available.

They may help devise treatment plans for managing genetic predispositions to certain diseases or may recommend a workout and diet plan that is best for a person’s specific genetic makeup. Genetic coaches will require a qualification in genetics and will also need a good understanding of the ethics and regulations surrounding genetic modification.
