Panel: The Future of Fan Engagement and Stadium Experience
Facilitator: Cassandra Calleja – The Sports Networker
Cass is a Fractional Commercial and Fan Experience Director working across sports organisations, venues and technology providers in Australia and APAC. Her experience spans major events, venues and leading sports technology platforms, including roles with VenueNext (Los Angeles), ECAL, EngageRM and MyVenue. She most recently served as Head of Business Development & Client Relations at SVB LIVE a leading global sports venue conference as well as the Steering Committee for the SEAT Conference. Her work focuses on strengthening the connection between fan experience, commercial performance and venue operations.
Panellist: Matt O’Sullivan – Head of Data & Technology, Fremantle FC
Matt O’Sullivan leads the Data & Technology function at the Fremantle Football Club, where he is building the club’s data and digital capability across both football performance and business operations.
Matt spent 12 years at Chelsea Football Club, working closely alongside players and coaching staff of the men’s first team before stepping into the role of Technology Portfolio Manager, where he oversaw all major technology projects across the club.
Now based in Perth, Matt brings that blend of elite sporting environment experience and senior technology leadership to the AFL, with a keen interest in how clubs can use technology and data to drive better outcomes on and off the field.
Panellist: Chris Andrich – General Manager – Venues, VenuesWest
Chris has been involved in sports facilities management for over 30 years, with more than 17 years’ experience as General Manager of Venues at VenuesWest. VenuesWest owns and manages Western Australia’s best sport and entertainment venues on behalf of the State Government. Chris will provide insights on the changing needs of fans across VenuesWest’s portfolio of facilities.
Panellist: Martin Schlegel – Executive Chair, ASTN
Martin has more than 25 years of experience in the sports technology and sports manufacturing industries. His regular travels into the US and European markets provides the ASTN with deep insights and connections into these markets. Martin will share what he is seeing globally from his recent experiences in stadia, fan and digital engagement.
